It took a little longer than expected to write this first update, eventhough I had planned on blogging on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I moved house across the country so that took up a lot of time…
Anyway, lately I’ve been quite stable in my daily Spanish learning routine.
On most days I do all or most of these things:
- Listen to the news in Spanish (usually Noticias Telemundo).
- Listen to podcasts in Spanish. The Easy Spanish podcast is currently my favourite.
- Read news articles or answers on Quora in Spanish.
- Complete at least one lesson on the Busuu app.
- Listen to some of the Michel Thomas Foundation Spanish course.
Less regularly, I also spend some time using Memrise (Mexican Spanish) and I might add it to my daily routine at some point. I’m also planning on going back to and completing the Rocket Spanish course that I bought a while back, but at the moment I’m taking a break from it (it’s good but can get a little repetitive).
I also watch telenovelas / TV shows in Spanish but I’ll generally take a break after finishing a season or the whole show.
The book I’ve been using the most so far is Madrigal’s Magic Key to Spanish (affiliate link) – I really can’t recommend it enough. It’s an old book, but very effective.
