I’ve been listening to a lot of language and language learning podcasts (and there are quite a lot of them now) and figured I might as well share some of my favourites with you, just in case you aren’t aware of them already. Some of the podcasts on the list have been on the air for many years, while others are newer kids on the block.
Disclaimer: I’m not affiliated with any of these podcasts, their hosts or language products, etc.
- The Fluent Show “A Podcast About Loving, Living and Learning Languages!” I’m a long time fan of Kerstin Cable‘s The Fluent Show, which has been around since 2013. The podcast content ranges from interviews with language learners and teachers to language app/resource reviews and recommendations to interesting solo episodes on specific topics.
- The Actual Fluency Podcast “Supporting language learners all over the world.” Fellow Danish language enthusiast, Kris Broholm, started this language podcast back in 2014. Most episodes are in-depth interviews with other language learners and teachers. Kris also has a lot of app and language programme reviews on his website and on his YouTube channel.
- The Language Mastery Show “Interviews with the World’s Best Language Learners.” That’s it really! Like Kris Broholm, John Fotheringham interviews some of the most best and most famous language learners and polyglots and as an accomplished language learner, linguist and language teacher himself, John really knows how to ask the right questions!
- I Will Teach You A Language Podcast Accomplished polyglot, language teacher and author, Olly Richards, talks about a lot of very different topics related to language learning in this podcast. He also shares a lot of personal stories about his own language learning journey.
- Speaking Tongues “The podcast in conversation with multilinguals.” I only just discovered Elle Charisse‘s podcast a few weeks ago, after I listened to her talk with Kerstin on The Fluent Show, episode 221 (recommended episode!). In Speaking Tongues, Elle interviews multilinguals about the languages they speak (native and acquired ones) and this podcast is quickly becoming one of my absolute favourites!
